Karma is a Boomerang

A favorite author of mine, Claire Cook included a saying in one of her books that I really enjoy, “Karma is a boomerang.”  It is a great philosophy to hold in life, but every once in awhile we all wish we could give karma a helping hand.

If you have one of ‘those’ family members or co-workers you know exactly what I mean.  Certain people just have a way of getting under our skin.  Despite your best intentions, you find yourself wishing that this person would step in front of a moving truck…(visions of the movie Mean Girls fit perfectly here).

How do you emotionally step back and hope that karma will do its job.  You remind yourself that negative thoughts will only hurt you, and that you are giving this other person more power than they deserve, but still you wish karma would just hurry up, and that you could be there to watch.

This is exactly where I find myself right now, and no matter how many times I listen to Queen Elsa tell me to ‘Let it go” I am struggling to do so.  I want to let it go, I want to allow Karma to do its thing.  It helps a lot to focus on the many wonderful things in my life, remembering that no matter what that person says or does, I have a fantastic life.  Refusing to retaliate is hard, but usually it is the best choice and my happiness is the best revenge.

  2. I read the Book"Secret" it was the one of the best book that i ever read , it says Law of attraction can give you what you ask? no matter how good or how bad your wishes are ? it always respond your wish , so after i read i applied in my life, believe it or not , it really helped , not a lot , but i can feel , now i can easily avoid negative thoughts like i failed to achieve in my dream, why everyone says my dream is worthless?, without our knowledge we attract negative things by our thought patterns , i don't know why i am writing this , but this was pops up in my mind when i saw the word "karma"

    1. Thanks Karthik - I have heard about 'The Secret' but I haven't read it. I am a firm believer that our thoughts and attitudes do affect what happens to us - or at the very least they affect how we deal with it. Being positive and spreading a smile will always create a better situation for everyone. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  4. To Let Go is to Love. To Let Go doesn't mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for someone else. To Let Go is not to cut myself off. It's the realization that I can't control another. To Let Go is not to enable, but to allow learning form natural consequences. To Let Go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands. To Let Go is not to fix but to be supportive. To Let Go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being. To Let Go is not to be in the middle of arranging all the outcomes, but allow others to effect their own outcomes. To Let Go is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality. To Let Go is not to deny, but to accept. To Let Go is not to nag, or scold, or argue, but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them. To Let GO is not adjusting everything to my desires, but to take each day as it comes and cherish the moment. To Let GO is not to criticize and regulate anyone, but to try to become whatever dream I can be. To let Go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future. To Let go is to fear less and love more. To Let go is letting go of fear. Let go of the fear, guilt, control, criticism, punishment, etc...etc..etc.. by Dr. Anna B Baranowsky
